Introduction

Massage is one of the oldest known forms of healing.

 

It is human nature to apply touch when we feel pain.  Massage has many well-recognized benefits, including:

  • relaxation

  • comfort

  • stress reduction

  • relief from discomfort such as muscle spasms, chronic tension, soreness, and stiffness

  • improved circulation and reduced swelling

  • reduced blood pressure,

  • relaxation of muscle “knots”
