Eldership

Elder Wisdom Circle

with

Becoming an “elder” has lost most of its meaning in our culture. Yet eldership presents the promise of wise leadership for the greater good. Many key thought leaders, from psychologist Carl Jung to theologist Richard Rohr, have indicated that we live through two very different halves of life, each with its own corresponding tasks and gifts. Those of us in the second half of life can learn to embrace the wisdom of being a true elder.

These circles  explore the potentially transformative nature of aging, becoming an elder, and the importance of developing wisdom in the second half of life. Each week we get together to explore some facet of wisdom, aging, and spirituality through group discussion and reflection. Some circles use texts and readings as a launching point.
